Yeah I think years ago when they first introduced the boondocker they would include a small pot of wax so you could dub them yourself.

I believe some old school guys can corroborate. Before they used the current Horween cxl roughout on their boondockers, they released some grey boondockers. You should be able to find it on a web archive.

[EDIT] found it. It was Horween, but they must have refined the formula to get the current color.

Makes sense. I’m looking at the inside roughout of my color no 8 and Natty CXL boots and they have that same grayish taupe color.

I'm thinking about checking out the sample sale. If I do end up going, I can try and proxy for some folks. I haven't looked at it yet but I would fly down there, book a room etc, so any funds to pitch in to cover those costs and time would also be appreciated.

As for the details, does anyone know how their sample sales are handled? Free for all, different sizes or are they all just one size? Any limits on how one can purchase, etc? Thanks!!
