Yeah I remember that pair from the blog post. That’s actually a pair they treated with beeswax and not waxed flesh.

Yeah I think years ago when they first introduced the boondocker they would include a small pot of wax so you could dub them yourself.

I believe some old school guys can corroborate. Before they used the current Horween cxl roughout on their boondockers, they released some grey boondockers. You should be able to find it on a web archive.

[EDIT] found it. It was Horween, but they must have refined the formula to get the current color.

Makes sense. I’m looking at the inside roughout of my color no 8 and Natty CXL boots and they have that same grayish taupe color.

I'm thinking about checking out the sample sale. If I do end up going, I can try and proxy for some folks. I haven't looked at it yet but I would fly down there, book a room etc, so any funds to pitch in to cover those costs and time would also be appreciated.

As for the details, does anyone know how their sample sales are handled? Free for all, different sizes or are they all just one size? Any limits on how one can purchase, etc? Thanks!!

Nice collection. Especially like those Miloh shop matte black calf boots. Do you have your eye on any non 2030 last’s? I started with the 2030 as well.

What are the wear stats and care regimen on those Natty CXLs? That is possibly the lightest (non heavily photo corrected) worn in pair I have seen.
