And about $1050 in 2020.

A nearly 70% increase in 4 years. Labor has def gone up, but their boots haven’t all increased by 70% and I’d be surprised if shell costs that much more. I think it’s just supply/demand. They aren’t making much shell, and it’s selling out fast in these small runs.

I know it is not apple to apple, but looking at percentage for a CROCKETT & JONES CAVENDISH BURGUNDY CORDOVAN LOAFER:

2021: UK £670

2024: UK £790

15% increase for Crockett and Jones..... I mean..... Math don't lie.

guys, im still very new to this so sorry for the noobish question. Im looking for a light brown pair of 2030s. How would you compare the natural cxl, the annonay tan calf, cuoiuo vachetta lucida and the 1060 tpr horsebutt? All from .com

Theyre all similarly priced and i like the looks of them equally. How do the leathers compare? Ive been searching the forum but cant really seem to find answers as to when whether if and why i should prefer the foreign leathers to cxl (which is do ubiquitous now) etc

Thanks!!

I think the price hikes are based on labor and material (et al) cost increases as well - still a $600 increase over 3 years is substantial.
The optimist in me likes to think the increase is to offset the already high cost of living in Victoria plus inflation. The skilled workers all have great wages and are getting a share of the profits.

Something is not jiving. Weren't they experiencing absent customer service recently because a # of their staffs have left the company around new years, so much that Brett had to step in to do the work?

one would hope 🤞

I don’t get too bent out of shape about the price hikes as these are luxury goods and the higher price will deter me from buying more 😅

Guys, just a sanity check here, trying to size my first pair in the 2030 last (cant try them on unfortunately)

I'm 8.5E in AE 65 last (slightly snug with thin dress socks), 8.5E in Grant Stone loafers and 8.5D in Diesel boots, 8.5UK in Trickers Stow 4497 last (size 8 is a bit too snug), 8.5 in Parkhurst Allen, and finally 9.5US in Nike and 9 in Converse.

Will a 2030 in size 8.5E be too big for me?

Thanks guys!

Shinki Horsebutt in brown with some lovely honeycombing, today:

And I didn’t realise how similar these three pairs were until I lined them all up on the shelf. They all have something unique that I like, but maybe my next pair should be something other than dark brown?

you are similar to mine in some sizes. I would say start with 8.5E.
