Black and Brown JFJ Bakers..... but its the famous russian grain without the russian grain. Its a smooth version of the world's most famous embossed leather.... I would buy these if they were the grained version. Why remove the most iconic feature?

They are really missing a trick here in my opinion. I would much prefer the leather to be embossed too. In a perverse way, I am quite glad as I wouldn't buy these anyway as they are plain toe. Great that they are using this leather now but it would be much more appealing if they used the hatchgrain version. The EG I have in this leather look and smell amazing. Imagine a 145 in the embossed leather!

maybe I’m just salty, I don’t know, but is anyone else just getting extremely bored with Viberg’s makeups? Ever since they axed their stockists’ custom makeups, we’ve just been getting bombarded with 8-9 eyelet+speed hook brown/black leather boots. I miss the creativity and uniqueness that drew most of us to love Viberg in the first place. Everything has just been so uninspired lately

"We took a famous leather known for its hatch-grain pattern, and got rid of that **** so now you're paying extra for funky-smelling smooth leather"

Agreed, would love to see some herald or halkett preorders.

I kinda agree with you, but it also wasn’t that long ago that people were saying “stop with all these weird lasts, leathers, and styles. Just give us some solid service boots.” In the end, I’m sure things will cycle again based on what sells.

If I were shopping for my first pair of vibergs instead of my 10th, then an interesting pair of brown leather boots would be a major draw. Different strokes.

Yeah it wasn’t that long ago that people were complaining that all the shell preorders were brogue cap toes and that they would like to see some plain toes….then we got some plain toes and people complained they weren’t brogue cap toes lol

The problem is the balance. It’s always been an overload at a single time, whether it’s casual makeups or more formal makeups.

Bring back lower SPI, thick unlined leathers, with gusseted tongues.

BTW that new leather looks like it will crease pretty badly.
I mean its the same JFJ Baker Russian calf just without the embossing so it'll crease however that legendary leather normally creases anyways.

Agreed on the first sentence though.
