Just so people know... Tumbled Shell Cordovan is about $38/sq. ft. vs. the ~$100/sq. ft. of non-tumbled shell cordovan and the plating process certainly doesn't add enough labor to warrant moving that price per square foot above $100/sq. ft.

Ugh, it's such a shame because I do like the #8s. But I guess I'll just leave some #8 Aldens in the rain for a few days and then throw them in the dryer on no heat in some dust bags for a natural plated and tumbled look.

I like the nattys and plaintoe over the itty bitty committee captoes on the color 8. 1450 better not be the new rare shell price moving forward though....

Definitely a shame, I actually really like the Color #8 pair, I think the natural pair looks a little weird with all the wrinkling with the PT design, but the price just takes them out of consideration for me. Hard sell at the $1,100 range, very difficult sell at the $1,300 range, impossible sell at the $1,500 range.

Lol they look like shell boots that someone beat up and stripped the shine off of, for 1450! If you love the look then I guess more power to you, but I hope this isn’t a sign that the new monthly shell drop has been raised from 1290...
