There's pics in here somewhere, the waxed tannage starts a bit more matte at first, but eventually gets shinier over time. I've got a pair of halkett service boot samples in it that Viberg definitely took the industrial buffer to as well as some asphalt waxed hb from NFbootmaker too if you want pics of either.

NFs, these weren't buffed.

The waxed tannage is basically a more matte version of the TPR without any coating and with wear/brushing gets shinier thanks to all the wax

If you're more interested in the tannage than the color, Viberg is purportedly ending TPR and either this season or next will have a different maryam HB tannage -- and there's only so many choices. They already use black waxed in a bunch of places, I wouldn't be surprised to see them use the other colors too.

Its kind of small, but this is the full tannage list they offer and a chunk of them are RO only. We've seen vachetta, all 3 ROs, cork (but not as horsebutt, only horse hide and other animals), vachetta and waxed which isn't on this list. Nappa is just tumbled. Crust I don't think we're likely to see. I know NF has samples of sughero and it looks pretty good too. Frisone I know nothing about.

Also I think the list here is from Guarded Good's so credit to the man there.

I'd say to try for a black halkett for a suit over a service boot tbh, but its not a bad option. The shinki HH (non-teacore) at BCC is another option service boot wise.

Halkett is too tall for me/ I like the quarter panel on the SB that the derby/halkett lacks. I’ll check out BCC

I had planned to be done for this year, but I may have to rethink that if there are Chromepak service boots in the mix.
