those look great, they also look shorter like older vibergs. Can you confirm; Just some shaft to shaft comparison NBD

Also is the smell of the chamois overwhelming? I had a pair and it stunk up the entire room
5.5 inches like most recent Viberg.

Compared to older Vibergs from a years ago

And yeah these have a very strong smell. Probably the most oily chamois I’ve handled.

Here's my Standard & Strange × Stitchdown × Viberg Midnight Gasfire Boondocker (2040 last):

Sorry for the drab industrial office backdrop, but I'm at work in my drab industrial office.

As @honestpanda mentioned, this is easily the oiliest reverse chamois boot I've got (I've got two others).

Given I'm a Viberg 6.5 and these started at 7, I went with my very first Viberg size 7. Surprisingly (to me anyway), it seems to fit fine -- better than I expected. If you told me it was a 6.5 I'd believe you. I'm a 6.5 in Tricker's 4497S, and I'd ordered a Tricker's Stow in 7 once and it was too big. I was expecting the same here, but happy to find otherwise -- so far. I'll risk losing the option to return them and wear them all day today, as some good walking is the only way to know for sure how they fit.

As this is my first 2040 pair, I'm not sure how they're supposed to fit vis-à-vis the other lasts I have tried (2030, 2045, 2055, 1035).

I want very much for them to work out as it's a beautiful makeup -- and this is a beautifully made pair.

I recently found out the 2040 last to fits really well for my skinny heel and arch, and with my high instep, locks my foot much better than on the 2030/1035. I sized .5 up on the 2040 too due to my high instep. So far, it's looking to become my best fitting Viberg last.

Just got confirmation from thefoldgroup that there are no current plans to carry Viberg, but that could always change.

So they're out as a stockist.

I saw they started carrying Truman instead. Thefoldgroup makeups have a flat welt and there was some pretty awful puckering going on. No wonder most of their makeups use a storm welt, easy way to cover that up.
