I can't say it's commitment so much as comfort and what not. I used to have NASTY feet, but the good wool socks have been a lifesaver and if boots sucked to wear, I'd just not wear them.

I will travel with a pair of minimalist shoes as well, and I might toss those on at the hotel, but boots just aren't a problem for me, so much so that I wonder if I've got super feet or something.

Dopke is a great guy and re-enabled this page if anyone wants a better look at what the toscanello tennessee calf actually looks like since Viberg's product shots are hard to trust.

Looks like it creases very easily, it will end up looking terrible with wear

I only have maryam HH, not their calf. Are they known for calf? I like some of the vitello calf bergs I've seen quite a bit.

I also wear boots year-round and it's pretty much summer year-round here in southern California. The only place I've been to that I probably wouldn't wear boots year-round as often is New Orleans, I could be barefoot and still have sweaty ass feet even if I dust them with arm n hammer.

Now why can’t Viberg take photos like that? It’s not hard. Anyone with a newish smartphone can do it.

Viberg's shots would probably be decent if they didn't magic away the background. Then at least there would be context for lighting.
Not sure what "magic away the background" means, but I think I get it from context. But still..why not just NOT do that and take a good photo of your very, very expensive product? This is bush league stuff. (I'm not as cranky as I probably read, I swear.)

I just want to say that their non-webstore product shots aren't so bad.

I would have much more faith buying from the .com if they just put the photos they literally take anyways on the product pages themselves.

I know im late but a few pages back someone said ridgeway is only available in bulk. I hate to be that guy but don't spread false information. Im a cobbler myself and anyone can order a pair here https://www.leatherandgrindery.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=ridgeway&description=true As can anybody

Any cobbler that also says they cant get ridgeway isn't trying hard enough. The above stockist is one of the worlds biggest, so either they haven't heard of it or they live under a rock. Anyone else ever need sole stock website help hit me up
Granted im not a cobbler and I’ve never purchase this stuff before but I’ve asked Viberg where they source some of their supplies since they wouldn’t provide it for me and are not willing to do modifications and they refused to tell me.

I mostly just wanted brass eyelets but was met with “Brett needs them”

A cobbler should be able to source your brass eyelets in the sizes Viberg uses anyways. The soles are all branded, but I think the Viberg LH soles may actually be from the lactae hevae Vietnamese factory, one of the cordwainers in the GYW subreddit actually sourced the exact same ones from there. They have no proprietary soles come to think of it. I think a lot of people did go to Pekin and the like for customization as a direct result of Viberg being unwilling to do stuff like that by and large.
