S&S sizing advice for the oxford (1035) deviates with Withered Fig's 1035 oxford advice. S&S says to go down full size from brannock. I have always heard only .5 size from brannock for the 1035 unless you have narrow feet. S&S also says 1.5sz down for narrow.

I can offer you my experience as another data point on this issue. For starters, I’m an 11C Brannock size.. I own Vibergs on several lasts: 2005 (engineer boot), 2040 (country boot), 1035 (service boot) and a 240 (hiker boot). The first three are size 10, with the engineer as the snuggest fit, the 2040 is a good fit, and the 1035 is the most loose around the toebox.
The 240 is a 9.5 and the fit is very good.
I think a 9.5 in the 1035 would have also been a great fit for me.

So, my experience seems to support the S&S recommentation.

Great! I assume you're aware of the differences between their custom and off-the-shelf boots, but let me know if you have any questions.

Not sure where you live, but if you have the ability to get to Intervale for a fitting for a pair of customs and can stomach the 2x or 2.5x price, I highly recommend it.

Awesome, I plan on just getting a regular pair soon - non custom lasted.

Glad to hear more praise for them!

Those rule of thumb sizing tips probably help ~75% of people. They don't work for me for instance. I really can't imagine how anyone even with narrow feet can go down 1.5.

Bourbon & mocha vibergs thrown in with a pair of English boots strictly for rainy days has been my rotation this summer. Thought vibergs would be unbearable in July/August but they’re still going strong.

Seeing the L&F MTO completion got me itching for my own ?

Just got the waxed deer boots from S&S.

Initial thoughts:
- Love the waxed roughout deer. Soft and supple. Slightly thinner than my kudu boots.
- these boots are heavy I thought they came with trees at first. The soles are definitely heavier than most others.

I’m curious as how a soft leather pairs with a tough sole. I’d like them with horsebutt or camel or something similar.

Time will tell for breakin and wear vs itshide or dainite.
