Isnt bamboo essentially rayon? If not, how is it different?

From what I understand, Yes, it is rayon - meaning it is made from the pulp of the organic material. Traditional rayon is made from wood fiber vs. bamboo rayon which is made of bamboo fiber.
In all honesty, they are generated by very chemically intensive process. So, Bamboo is not as "green" as you think it is. I do understand, however, that it absorbs more moisture than cottom does and feels cool to the touch.
