Just bought my first pair of True Religion jeans.....size 36 (yes, I know.....big, but I was a 46 a year ago, so I'm pretty thrilled)....

...anyway...they're big....and most size 36 jeans/pants fit me perfectly.

Looked through past threads for some info, but didn't see anything....do True Religion jeans typically run big?

Thanks!

Mate, congrats on losing all that weight. I don't think you'll find much love for TRs around here though. And yes they run big - I'm normally a 34 but sized down to 32. Now they've stretched and are still too big...

like Confucius said, TR, like a lot of others, are vanity sized a bit so you'll probably want a 34. you'll probably want to check the forum: www.honestforum.com lots of info on TR, Diesel, etc. there

I hate to be the advertiser here, but have you looked at dry denim at all? Here, we're more about breaking in denim from it's raw state to create a more natural look. That's why you didn't find any info about True Religion (and honestly, I'm shocked you didn't get any angry respones--most here hate "designer" jeans).

Maybe see if you can get down to a 32 waist size and check out dry denim, that'd be an easier size. Just a suggestion though.

**** you beanpoles. There's plenty of good dry denim in the 34-36 range.

He doesn't. I didn't mean for my post to come off that way. I used to be a 36 and I am now a 31/32. I had a hard time finding dry denim as stores rarely carried 35s and I couldn't fit into 34s. Also, considering he's lost a ton of waist sizes in recent time, I wouldn't be surprised if he took a few more off. Just telling him it'd be frustrating to by raw denim and then not have it fit within a few months. No need to be so touchy, I just was looking forward so that he wasn't pissed when he dropped a couple hundred on a pair of jeans and then had them be too big.

Over 36 and you'll have a problem finding raw jeans. However, brands i've seen are up to 36. Maybe you can't find the really skinny ones in 36 or 35 but if you're that size and not 6'6, you probably don't want the skinny ones anyways. TR jeans may be pretty trashy on guys, but i'm not going to pretend that girls' asses don't look absolutely fantastic in them most the time.

Thank you all, again, for your advice, and no insult taken here!

Believe me, I'd LOVE to get down to a 32 waist......have been heavy my entire life, and even though they're just "designer jeans" and not "raw denim", I have LOVED being able to wear jeans by Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole, Michael Kors, Lucky Brand, Guess, etc...instead of WRANGLERS!!!!

I am DEFINITELY going to get a pair of APCs...in fact...just wrote to the Denim Bar...they say you should order two sizes down.....didn't know if that meant 2 INCHES down, or two SIZES, which would be 4 inches...

I've been a member of this forum since 2002, and have done little posting until recently (and yes, I DID get "yelled at" for that), for the simple reason I was unable to wear all of the beautiful clothes seen here on the site. Now that I've turned my life around...literally, I'm VERY excited by all I see here, and hope to be "stylin'" like Sauce, Braidkid, Berlin, Get Smart, SoCal, and all the other EXTREMELY well-dressed gents found here.

Thank you again for your kind words, and the GREAT advice!

Forget what I said about getting to a 32, that might be a future goal. Going from a 44 to a 36 is an amazing accomplishment, especially if you've been a heavy set guy all your life. Reward yourself and buy some kickass jeans, whatever style you like, you ******* deserve that.

That could be true but it's still not THAT difficult to find raw denim even in sizes larger than 36.
