My understanding is that Alden and Allen Edmonds are regarded to be the top American manufacturers of dress shoes.

Who are considered to be the great American boot manufacturers?

Alden is probably one of the iconic boot manufacturers in the United States, producing models like the 405 (Indy Boot), and custom boots for various law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

Red Wing is probably another big dog in the boot business.

I'm still awaiting the outcome of my complete blowout. I'm hoping to have some answers Monday, but as of now, I'll likely never consider another pair of Aldens.
