I agree. However, it's easy to look at a picture like the one the OP posted, assume it's a true three piece dinner suit even though it would obviously have been a separate waistcoat had you been there in person.

It's Brad Pitt in Tom Ford. I think we can all assume it's a true three piece!

Ede & Ravenscroft might be a good bet and I'm pretty sure they've got a shop in Edinburgh so you don't have to come all the way down to London to try it on.

My brother also recently had a dj made for him by Dress2Kill which is about £500 odd normally but I think he got it on some sort of offer. They're only in London though so I'm not sure if it's any help. No idea how it turned out either as he's with the RAF in Germany so I've not had a chance to look at it.

Yes, Ede and Ravenscroft have a three piece dinner suit available as separates : see here, here and here.

I remembered this thread and thought it was quite a smashing piece. Will come out to just over 1,000 GBP (comes out to about 1,250 GBP), but it would appear to be exactly what you are looking for.

Well, you forgot there is 20% VAT+parcel force handling fee on top of that..., there is no way Paul Stuart is only to declare this as gift with zero value (plus the 20% VAT will be applied to the postage fee as well...). They're business not some ebay or B&S seller...

Oh well, so it'll send the OP 50% over budget... Guess it is what it is in that regard. Still a nice tux, though.

I totally agree. Dudes here in Korea try the black on black look all the time, but it looks awful.

There's no such thing as black clothes and when you start putting different temperatures and transparencies of dark grey next to each other the different is pretty stark.

The one way out it to change texture wildly. That's how tuxes get away with the satin and wool being so different.
