Where'd you buy your 1/2" shoe lifts from?

i got them from either ebay or amazon. cheap. the thought was to use them when i wanted an extra boost (pun intended). 1st dates. important meetings. 1/2" didn't make much of a difference but it changed my behavior A LOT. mostly i didn't wear them. i'm 5'6" and ok with it. much less neurotic and older helps. but lifts are a really inexpensive way to try this out without spending real money on a frankenshoe.

walk tall.

Look up and watch "I Love Lucy" episodes. Desi Arnaz wore lift shoes.
Seeing him in those will make you re-think this.

I think perhaps the OP's deep rooted insecurity does no stem from the fact that he is 5'9", but from the fact that he works at a consulting company.

To be honest I think elevator Shoes are a big part of some men's lives, In certain parts of the world the population is taller. ( Holland for example). I dont think it has anythng to do with insecurity its just trying to fit in etc.

Just to clear up a few things...
The research does not indicate that lack of confidence is the main factor in the disadvantage for shorter men, though men who catch up in height by their late teens often continue to lag behind their equals in height.
The importance of height does not diminish much in time, except maybe in the twilight years (when the height difference itself lessens a bit, for tall men shrink more).
Anecdotally, yes, shorter men seem to age better.

And, right, elevator shoes are a bad idea. More than a half-inch extra height from that or anything else (e.g., hair) is a bad idea.

Would you not wear them in order too make money, further your career? Example: Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt..and many more I presume.

There are just as many examples of short guys who make millions and are titans of business. The greatest CEO (JackWelch) of all time was short. I'm not short at all, but for whatever reason many of my best friends are 6'3 --6'4, etc. @ 6' should I wear lifts to better fit in?

It's probably harder for a shorter guy to become a succesful CEO today than it was when Jack Welch rose to power. The world has become more superficial. Also, average height has increased.

By the way, friends do tend to assort (get together) on height, among other physical similarities. Obviously, once good friends, height differences don't matter :)

I have been looking for this product/service and I found this one http://www.increasingshoes.com/I am not sure about the quality or the origin of their offering. Has anyone have looked into this before? If you have any other options you know are worth the time to check out, please post them here. Thanks!
