1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

My friend who posted this is actually quite smart. And obviously well-intentioned. I get the appeal. I mean, who doesn't want to cheer up kids with cancer? (Assholes like me, apparently.)
But I can't help feeling there's something weird about this. Plus, do we really need Mattel to manufacture shaven-head Barbies? Don't decades of experience establish that kids are perfectly capable of shearing Barbie themselves?

from my friend with too many degrees who can't get a job:

"You know what I love? When I ask someone very specific questions in a job interview about things which effect my ability to take a position and get answers that end up being false once the rubber meets the road."

Imagine a terminal AIDS or Plague Barbies?

On a more serious note , I think it is a great idea in a hospital environment...

You sure it wasn't one of those ads where they say "John Doe Likes Betabrand" (even though john doe doesn't actually like those specific pants and only clicked like on their page 3 years ago when they were offering a 20% discount for doing so)?

I have been seeing that same ad for a while (and I have seen other betabrand ads before...like their sideways corduroy pants).

And you may make fun of them...but our very own Mauro makes a very similar lounge pant that seemed quite popular :hide:

this i can believe. I'm thinking more along the lines of people who take it to facebook because they're streesed about forgetting their lip balm, or some shit like that.

"An Engineer Explains Why You Should Always Order the Larger Pizza"

(…I hope you're sitting down right now, folks…)

    It's because the area of a pizza…

… increases by the square of its radius!

    OMGWTF???//

If you need an engineer to explain seventh-grade geometry to you, what the fuck am I doing slinging pumpkins in a pumpkin patch?
