Does anyone have a good explanation why the Mac Pro Stand costs $999? I did a bit of research, but...well...the entirety of that research consisted of me watching a Hitler rant parody on the topic so now i feel i need to do a little bit more.

A high end VESA-compatible monitor arm (highly adjustable gas spring with good fit and finish) might cost as much as $300

So if you instead "think different" and design your own mounting standard, you can make people buy a $200 adapter to connect.

At that point, if people are going to be paying $500 just to use a fricking monitor-dongle...why wouldn't they just double the budget in order to buy a less-adjustable stand for $1000?

I mean, if you need any more adjustment than the stand offers, then you are looking at it wrong.
