The Zinc industry. Pennies are made from 90%+ zinc. If pennies are no longer produced then that industry will not have a customer that purchases millions of dollars worth of zinc to put into coins.

Pennies are evil. They cost more to make then they are worth. Any sane society would have nothing to do with them.

My mother is just an unstoppable juggernaut of incompetence. She means well, and tries to do nice things, but every time she says she's going to do something it's impossible not to think "how is she going to catastrophically **** up this time", and while the means of her doing so is often surprising and baffling the result is never in doubt. I can't be too hard on her because she's often trying to do me a favour when failing, but it's incredibly annoying when it happens every god damned time.

This time she shipped me something reasonably important - nothing life or death, as I wouldn't trust her with that of course, but I made it clear that it would be a huge pain ********** and fairly expensive for me if I didn't get it quickly. I paid to have it sent by express to my address here. Instead, I discovered as I tracked the package when it didn't show up, it was sent to Vancouver, where I used to live. Here's the kicker: she put the city as vancouver, but put my CURRENT STREET ADDRESS which doesn't exist in Vancouver. Consequently there is no way to know where in hell they should deliver it, and it is possible I will never see the package at all. Astounding.

I think I have ulcerative colitis or Khron's disease. It is one of the symptoms of my stupid autoimmune disorder. I'm in a lot of ******* pain and the damn GI appointment isnt for 2 days. The tests to reach a diagnoses always involve sticking somnething in ******, so I'm really looking forward to the next 2 days. I've got a huge push to finish up a case for work due Wednesday as well.

Ugh. I spent some time in the GE department and spoke with several patients that had each of those diseases. Thankfully, they're not terminal or life threatening. Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing you can say about either of them. I hope your workup comes back negative for both and wish you luck.

UC can be some nasty **** if it hits hard, but it can also be the case where you pop some pills and it goes into remission for months or years.

I thought that the only long term solution for UC was removing a section of the colon.

that is a long term permanent cure and I believe is only necessary in exreme or severe cases. Usually it's just about managing it properly with some medicine (sulfasalazine being pretty standard) into remission. From here, life will be back to normal. Flare ups may happen every now and then.

Job search blues:

1) Losing a lead through a recruiter because the end client was hyper picky on wanting proposal writing experience as opposed to business writing, communications and project management experience I had and that could be easily transferred. I'm staying on contact with the recruiter though, always something else down the road and she sounds nice on the phone.

2) The other lead at a PR agency is on hold because the VP got a terrible case of indecision so my contact the account director's hands are tied and the interview process is in a holding pattern.

Story of my life this fall.....
