1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'm kinda diggin' the idea of a shoe-tree gun that shoots a cedar shell at lethal velocity

Making ten bucks an hour, I'm betting the nicest shoes they own are the ones they wear to work.

"I can only imagine that the state of your own dress shoes is deplorable!"

Sick burn on SF. Completely ineffective IRL.

I moved into the new house on Friday. This would be really exciting if all of the following hadn't happened since Thursday:

    Thursday:
    - I got sick (still fighting this and have almost completely lost my voice).
    - My dog ran away (and is still missing).

    Saturday:
    - Found out the econobox I don't really want/need anymore and was planning to sell, but still has a note, needs a head job.

    Sunday:
    - Turned on dryer to finish the first load of our enormous post-move laundry pile for the first time since the move to discover the movers screwed it up.

    Ugh.

I hope you find your dog, that is one of my worst fears.

My five year old son proudly declared this morning that he wants to become Darth Vader when he grows up.

The medical billing saga continues. Apparently insurance came in and paid off a bill that we didn't expect to be paid off. This might be our first stroke of luck (4-figure bill), but I can't help but think this will come back and bite us in the ass some day since this probably shouldn't have happened. The annoying thing is that she got no notice of this, and the only reason she found out is because the online billing system is so screwed up that my wife had to call in to check the balance.

This isn't even my pathetic insurance company, either. It's a hospital bill.

Don't let that bother you. That was my ambition growing up too, and look at how I turned out [IMG]

Re: The Vader thing. How does that piss you off? One of the best parts of kids that age are their incredible imaginations and sincere belief that anything is possible.

My son told me recently that he's going up be a zooloninja because he loves animals and wants to help catch bad guys. What an awesome, fleeting gift for that to be your world for a few brief years.

Just know that when he looks at you intently while you're telling him no, he's trying to force choke you

Thanks, guys. I'm not optimistic that we'll ever see the dog again. I love my dogs, but I've never been the type to mourn the loss of pets, so I'm alright. But I'm worried about my son. He seems a little too okay with it, and I fear it's because he's still holding out hope the dog is coming home. We've tried to explain how unlikely that is now, but I'm not sure we're getting through to him. We'll see.
