Exactly. I enjoy that Rehab song (phenominal production and arrangement) but understand her singing voice is just a put on. Listen to Winehouse's earlier stuff and you can tell she's worked hard at crafting her current voice. Nothing wrong with that...but it's not coming from the belly.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Monch remix, much better suiting than the Jay-Z effort. I think she’s currently in Rehab so the music may be more from the belly than otherwise noted.

I was a big fan of the recent album, she has a great voice and some catchy tunes, but I'm tiring of her. It's difficult to find a live performance where she isn't off her rocker/ high as kite/ plain drunk. Sadly, I predict she will implode fairly soon.

Hi all, just wanted to chime in on Amy,

She is an icnredible singer because she understands the music that you say she mimics. Take a listen to her first album released in the UK, "Frank". She has the ability to tell modern stories in an old fashioned way. She has a song on the Frank album entitled "F*** Me Pumps". Take a listen.

This album, Back To Black, is an ode to the music that Amy listened to as a child and she indeed tips her hat to a lot of the vocal stylings, but she does so accurately which is important if you are to evoke memories of old.

I saw Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Co. at the Fillmore East back in 1970. I like Winehouse but Janis J. is/was/always will be iconic. I hope Winehouse doesn't OD and check out like Janis. BTW: F*** Me Pumps
