This is actually a very good point.

IME if I'm going out in the evening my choices are often very different than daytime fits, both in terms of colour choices, formality and even silhouette.

You could start a thread dedicated to that topic actually. I think it would be interesting to see people's ideas and experiences.

I do like dark maroons, purples, black, forest green, midnight blue at night.

I also like things to have a bit of a sheen like a silky black shirt or a velvet jacket or leather (fake leather for me).
