Patch pockets at the waist are awesome because flaps are fidgety when you actually use pockets. Breast patch pockets add unseemly bulk.

I am also a philistine who wears loafers sockless with cotton suits, much less sport coats.

Oh, you may appreciate the flight of sand hill cranes (I think) that we saw flying over our back yard the other week. Was about 30 or so flying in rough V and making funny noises, that I think are crane noises. It was pretty fantastic.

Sandhill cranes are awesome birds. I lived in Florida for a while and they were everywhere.
