@ThaiToast good stuff. when you post, i recommend you edit the code in your post when uploading photos:

"width/200/height/400" can be more like "width/700/height/900." obviously, adjust numbers to your preferences, but that tends to work for me.

900

am I the only one to think that all the Synth pieces on their own are awsome, but look way too matchy together? The jacket + pants with perfectly matching patches could be some lil wayne type idea..

He used to have these diy bleached jeans that were almost white I think they would've looked dope here.

It works as a runway/editorial look and even here in SF, but in real life I think each pieces is better worn separately

@ManofKent I love how comfortable and natural you are in all your fits, be it your "heading to work" pics or your bolder, inspiring casual fits.

Thanks - It's why I don't post the "heading to work" in cheap suit fits that take up much of the year :)

That whole synth fit is great. Love the relaxed fit of the jeans and shirt. Did you and/or your mom diy all those pieces?

Thanks, and yes - it's all DIY. My only input is encouragement and occasional thoughts on colors/patterns etc, so really I just wear the stuff - not sure how much credit I deserve for that!

Did you just set an eBay alert for SASHIKO!, or is there a larger story about how all those decades came together?

EDIT: Is there a shirt brand we can look out for, sans-sashiko, even? I've been looking for a light, time-softened shirt like that forever. Very nice. Very, very, nice...

EDIT TWO: ↓↓↓ Remember that one guy who came here and posted a pic of Synthese and said, Who is this man? I NEED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THIS MAN!!!!!
lol8[1].gif

All done by hand - in the case of these particular pieces, the larger story is that the shirt is a Banana Republic shirt that was originally my mother's and was purchased at some point in the 1980's - it has at least a decade of darning on it at this point. Likewise, I believe my dad has been wearing the jeans for two decades, and my mother stole them to do stuff to. I have no idea what the original color of either would have been. But 80's BR seems like a good bet?

@Synthese I NEED THAT ******* JACKET

But then what would I wear? Hopefully in the near-ish future I will be able to help you out with that, though.

Synth's clothes are dope, but the one thing keeping it from being supa fly is the really heavy cuffs on the jeans. Chop those down or do something with them to remove some of the length and the whole look will be so good

Just to kill the dream a little bit, I was visiting (like a good son, of course) and so put everything on more or less for the fun of it with the stuff I was already sporting (i.e. vans). I probably wouldn't wear the whole thing together, although it was definitely fun to hang around in (did not wear it to move furniture/clean/etc). You can't beat 20-40 year old fabric for softness! And yeah, cowboy boots would probably feature were I to, uh, officially "style" it all. Maybe in the future!

Do You Consider Sustainability When Purchasing Clothes?

  • Always - Sustainability is a top priority in all my clothing purchases.

  • Often - I frequently consider sustainability, but it isn't the main factor in my decisions.

  • Rarely - I seldom consider sustainability when purchasing clothes.

  • Never - Sustainability is not a factor I consider in my clothing choices.
