Conspicuous consumption is to "good consumption" as pseudo-intellectuals are to actual scholars.
It's like chugging a $100 bottle of wine or taking shots of single malt scotch, wasteful, unnecessary, and disdained by everyone who appreciates the product for the art instead of the price.

Don't really understand all the hate for 123abc123.
I don't really like the N&F denim (and can't really see the hi-tops in the first pic to make a judgment), but other than that everything looks alright. If he hadn't posted the labels, I doubt it would have gotten any significant criticism here.
