Not so sure about the palm motif dial on the OP. New Daytona is cool, but not for me.

That two-tone. I think I like it.
Yeah it's not too bad but I still want a regular stainless Explorer. I'm sure there's not much chance of the AD having both the 36 and 39mm for me to compare on the wrist. Oh well.

I really like the new Tudor Black Bay 36 with silver dial. Oh, what the Rolex Explorer 1 could have been . . .

Crown guards were never brushed on the Daytona (or any other Rolex, as far as I know), even when the lugs are.

Well I happen to own a Rolex 1675 that disagrees with you on no brushed crown guards. Please tell me how I am wrong as always oh master of the Rolexverse. It is just a bauble, though, so I am thinking to polish the lugs and crown guards just to be more authentic and increase intrinsic value.

Can someone explain the appeal of meteorite dials? I think they’re ugly but am willing to listen if there’s another reason they’re popular.
Well, They are each unique. And they are cut from stones that fell from Space.
As an engineering nerd that is the appeal for me. to wear Space on my wrist.
something from out there, right here. keeping time.
-it's a goal.
as is the Millgaus. for similar reasons.
