Here is a little something I picked up from the Polo Ralph Lauren store here in Dallas on Dec 27th, 2009. It's the most substantial Shawl Collar Cardigan I have come across. It is actually structured more like a jacket. It is 79% Wool, 17% Lambs Wool, & 4% Al Paca. You might want to try and grab one while you can. They are currently on sale. Originally $895.00 but I picked it up for $266 plus tax.

It looks great on you, and pricewise it seems to be a great deal as well.

Welcome to SF by the way!

This sweater came out in Fall 2005 from a fashion group called "Hyannis Port". It is acutally 100% wool and was retailed for $145. Here is the style number "0139184-AJ". You might able to find this sweater on Ebay but I wouldn't bet on it.

Thanks. I've given up the thought on purchasing such a sweater though. I've spoiled myself enough.

May I ask where you got it and how much it was?

I have no new fall sweater to compete with, although I'm currently waiting for a yellow cashmere cable knit sweater from Polo Ralph Lauren to be delivered.

The sweater of my dreams, since the very day it was listed on eHaberdasher, would be this Kiton cashmere cardigan. Too bad it's above my budget.

Thanks for the kind words. I could tell you, but it would only make you sad.

I did pick up the brother of the LP above, though:

I'm a 23 y.o. analyst. Would this look too conservative? or is it just ugly in any time period? I wear OCBDs to work usually with a thin woolen sweater, its just right in Sydney, Australia for spring. Based solely on design, appeal, could you please SF approve or reject. http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...&sectionsize=#

That's not conservative in my books and not a big fan of the aesthetic either, especially for work.
