I`m planning on buying my first pair of boots for fall/winter. I like the style of semi dress lace up boots like Wolverine 1000 mile or Redwing GT, for example. The problem is that I don`t know, if this type of boot could be a bit to bulky and doesn`t match well with my other clothes. Further I`m really skinny and wear skinny jeans (waist size 26). Only option is tucking them in the boots, but I`m not sure, if tucking in, in lace up boots, is ok. So if it`s ok could you recommend me a pair of black boots in a price range about 200 $ please. Or what types of boots are decent and would fit better to me? Thank you for your help...

What do you think is the most versatile leather casual laceup boot to wear with jeans?

To rephrase: If you could own one lace-up leather boot to wear with jeans between $100-$300, what would it be?

PS Ricards or Bihars might be had around 300 on sale, that would be my pick.

Are they actually in stock somewhere or was it an ebay/b&s find?

Was having trouble finding a pair of stylish boots in a burgundy/oxblood, but today I found a partial replacement.. Shoto in reddish/brown leather. Very soft, and appear pretty well made. Leather sole with a vibram rubber outsole. Don't appear as long in the nose in real life as they do in the photo:

Depends on season, but overall it's pretty solid. You won't be paying a markup for the name of some "higher" brands, but the quality is often on a par. Styling is sometimes kind of wacky, though. But the simple stuff -- when it's good, it's good.

Cruising around and I thought this thread title was "Streetcar shoes and boots thread." I thought, hmm, new thread? What to wear on public transit? I should probably increase the font size in my browser so I don't have future embarrassments.

sole came off one day, but I glued it back. They're not great quality, but for $100-150 they're good.
