The patina is developing wonderfully on my Honey Glazed Ottawas (Grant Stone). I hadn’t noticed this at first, but the heel counters are inverse (color-wise). So much character.

The only thing that matters is that you love the character. I mean that.

But for me, this looks like wicked poor clicking.

Yes you are right, seems shell colour shift varies dramatically with the lighting.

The viewing angle also changes the color. Keep the light the same and view the heel counters from the rear and then from the front. I have some whiskey saddles and the light and dark areas will flip when viewed from the opposite angle.

Ahhhh - I see. Your earlier pics made the boots look completely different from one another color-wise! These pics are a whole lot better I think. Thanks for posting!
