Made cacio e pepe last night and paired it with a Paso Zin (was channeling Primitivo) that is made in a very old school way. Ledge was the maker, Dusi was the vineyard. Dusi is a few generations deep growing grapes on the Central Coast.

Took delivery on my two bottles of Momzatee (named after the KKR partner owner of the winery) by Repris. Had an incredible time at the winery last year and have been over the moon about all of their wine I’ve received since.

This is apparently a special release (magnum only sizing) which has me wondering... I’d take their regular Cabernet or Left Bank Bordeaux blend against most of the California names I’ve had so I can’t imagine how good this will be

Haven’t heard of them- are they mailing list only?
Yeah, they have a sister winery Pangloss (lower priced than Repris) that’s in Sonoma but Repris is list only. Not sure if Pangloss is available outside of the list but figured it would be helpful info to put out there

Well, cracked that Hensche. I'm always amazed at how something can sit 20 years in a bottle and still taste young. In fact I wish I had waited another decade as the tannins were a little more present than I prefer. Still, incredible wine. Paired perfectly with some sous vide steaks and pan sauteed mushrooms.
