@double00 i think you're right. I always forget about the 502. Sold those and the Dubble Ware to a Japanese vintage buyer I met while he was in ATL.

Went back to the sale this morning. Got a bunch of mostly alright stuff (even cheaper today), only real grail was another elephant bandana. Had to leave some old, but toasted shirts and jackets:/

Just a taste of what I dug through yesterday and today.

And just for the record, no, I will not trade these shirts for a collection of Royal Wedding memorabilia. And Barbour Boiz is not a thing.
Damn!

That looks like my kinda place!

In other news, I've been paging through some early 1950's Better Homes and Gardens magazines I picked up yesterday for 50 cents each. Saw these in a 1953 issue. Really wish someone back in 1953 would proxy some of this stuff for me.... :)

The strange things we find . . . Kopped this BB blazer at an estate because of the nifty MIT buttons, but got a fright when I went to photograph it: the inside left lining had been substantially reworked with some kind of weird pouch of black silk that cut through the left inside pocket through to the outside pocket, with a pull tag on it. Mystery solved when I Googled the name on the pull tag: Randi Burton makes hidden pockets for magicians, so that's what it was: a magician's jacket. Maybe that's where they keep the white dove or rabbit. Tempted to see what happened if I listed it "as was", but damn, how many magicians are size 40 MIT guys? I'm guessing one, and he just died. So I had my tailor pull out all the "tech" and restore it to a normal MIT BB blazer. I know, I'm no fun . . . But one for the obscurity books, for sure . . . Always fascinating, this game . . .

Retrospective "hmmmm" footnote: I now remember that there were a half-dozen tuxedo suits at that estate (that I passed on because of being no-name), and I was scratching my head about why one guy had so many. Did he work at a hotel or casino? Now I know: I bet every single one of those was kitted out with hidden pockets and other gadgetry, and might have been eminently flippable (albeit to almost no-one).

@Sartoriamo I assume you already checked, but just in case you haven't, if those are a set of Ben Silver/Holland & Sherry buttons I'd yank them off that 346 blazer asap and list separately. Doubt they are, given that they're on a 346 blazer, but you never know.

There were no markings on the back, so it's just cheap fodder, otherwise for sure I would have pulled them and tossed the cheap-ass jacket. Posted only for the novelty/obscurity. But a good tip nonetheless!
