Sweet pattern if nothing else
Question for the thrifty audiophiles out there...
I'm looking at getting either a standalone record player, or one with a built in AM/FM radio for my office. Ideally, it would have an AUX output so I can plug it into my Bose speakers (which I already use to get sound from iTunes in my computer.
I would like to be able to play all forms of vinyl, though I don't have a whole lot of records at the moment.
If anyone has a suggestion of what to look for, or if you find something suitable in a thrift, hit me up.
Man I hope I'm Spoos thriftmasee
the ones i looked at the tag for were 54/56/58 but theres still 700 more
Unfortunately I've never seen a standalone turntable or all-in-one system that wasn't a total piece of crap and the turntables on all the ones I've seen are awful. Cheap cartridges, tone-arms with no counterweight so they wear down your records really fast, cheap construction, etc.
Best I've seen is this, and it isn't thrifty at all. Maybe a little gimicky as well, but looks to be the best bet as far as engineering and sound quality.

Amir of Beverly Hills/Bel Air.... goes by both. He has that huge Billboard at Sepulveda and Santa Monica Blvd. that is adjacent to the two Bijan Billboards. Essentially he was a poor (still quite rich) man's Bijan and now that Bijan has passed I believe he is trying to carve his path to the top....this however is an older piece.
Yeah, I came across that one in my early searching a few weeks ago. Looks like a two month lead time to get one though, which is kind of a turn-off. It does seem like a cool concept though. If I got that, I would have to start collecting vinyl more seriously.
