Tobacco chamois PT boot on Barrie as well in great sizes from LS last call.

Missed my size by a smidge...argh again.

10E might work for you? Tempted by them as well

I wish LSBH was still around, promotional prices were really good vs current LS promotional pricing

Chamois PT boot looks nice , but I don't understand a beater all weather leather with a leather sole , that boot calls for a crepe or commando sole IMHO, I'm not a boot guy so I can be wrong but that's my impression.

My first post in this thread. I thought I would show my boots I just got back from Alden re-crafting. I picked these up from eBay at the end of May. I'm very happy with how they turned out although I did have to wait a little more than two months to get them back.

Congrats John on your purchase and welcome to the thread! Good call on doing the Alden Restoration. It's like getting a brand new boot! They came out nicely. Unfortunately they have to stop production to do restoration for a short while plus they take a 2 week break at the beginning of July. The wait will be water under the bridge in just a few days. Enjoy your classic and versatile boots!

anyone find the captoe on this boot from Alden SF (on Barrie last) to be too big?

Not my experience......I just bought them in black and I'd say if anything, they are a tad narrower than my wingtip boots....
Oops, I now see you are talking about the size of the captoe.......sorry

Thanks Mike. I really am enjoying them and I'm finding out just how versatile they are! Great with jeans and office pants. These are my fourth pair of Aldens and I think they may end up being my favorite.

Total noob here. Howerver, my first pair of Alden's. Any thoughts on protecting the leather bottom's if/when rain occurs?
Thanks.

Either topys, or overshoes if you plan to wear them in the rain.

Once I get the soles scuffed really well I apply a coat of leather honey once a year sometimes twice....I have no idea if it works but I like it.

Thanks gforce. Yes I was referring to the size of the actual cap. How do you like them. Did you notice the larger cap? Do you like it like that or does it bother you? It seems like its 2/3 of the way to the lacing when I'm used to 1/2 way. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!

In this Crockett and Jones video at 2:05 it looks like he puts shoe cream on the soles. Does anyone do this?

Thanks @shoetree and @kahuna75
I should also include that i am wearing these for my wedding and there is a chance for rain. Any suggestions other than overshoes?
