great makeup. is there a specific model that doesn't have the "split" seam down the front, or is that an just an NST without it (simply a design choice for the AF1)?
These are my favorite Aldens: Whiskey and mahogany saddle Norwegians. Alden AF1 (The first "fan" shoe from Alden of Carmel.)

agreed. I love those much much more than the split toe.
I've seen the U-tip before, but i thought that referred to a reverse machine stitch that is single needle, versus the double needle on the indy/NST.
