I like the NST and the straight tip.
Is there a perf. captoe blucher? That would be sweet. I'm also thinking of the medallion captoe blucher in #8. At least that would be something that I don't have in boot form.

I have never heard this rule and have heard a contrary rule (no black with navy except under limited circumstances). Interesting times we live in!

This is very interesting. I've always thought navy and brown is a great combo. I also like navy with black, though not as much as with brown or #8. Navy and #8 were made for each other.

They look like shell but I didn't recognize the model number (2450), and thought the seller was claiming calf as shell, even though they look like shell. Turns out model 2450 is #8 on the barrie last (see citishoes, for example).

Could not agree more.
I dunno...maybe I am missing something else in #8. I only have the LWB and the rest of my #8 are boots. I just feel like when I look in my closet in the morning I need another versatile derby option.

2210 is the way to go tif. I keep passing it over for other "special" models. I actually prefer the derby to the tanker boot.

I suspect any reluctance to wear brown with navy comes from the British "brown in the country, black in the city" rule. But see, for example, Italy.

I have actually considered selling my Tanker. GASP! I love it, but I feel it is going the way of my shell Indy...to nice(shiny) for casual and too casual to wear to the office. I have really been re-thinking a lot of things lately. haha
