1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

For $50? Not worth it to me - life is too short.

See I'd say life is too short to fight with UPS and the back and forth with Kafka to send forms and info. Then back and forth with UPS about whether they received said forms.

Life is too short...Pay the $47 or let them go back and wait for a refund. Seems more in line with the "life is too short" argument.

Are you agreeing, or... disagreeing with me? I'd never fight with UPS over $50 on a $700 pair of shoes.

I'd be more inclined to ask the retail for a discount on your next order, given it was their screw up.

It's frustrating for sure. I guess you can do one of two things... 1. You can be right and let them go back or 2, you can get the awesome shoes you want.

I agree with this point. I must have misinterpreted your previously quoted post. I read it as if it was not worth an additional $50.

Yeah no sense in going back and forth with UPS over $50. They aren't likely to budge. I tried that once:)

Also, with the way Alden increases prices these are going to be a lot more than $50 more expensive the next time you can find them :nodding:

On edit - I was thinking these were the whiskey boots. if it's a stock model, simply send them back if "price + 47 > U.S. retail"

I assume if you bought a pair of 975's overseas then you probably got some type of deal. Otherwise why not just buy domestically and avoid any potential headaches (since this is a commonly stocked model)?

If that's the case, just consider the $47 as part of the price, which hopefully is still lower than the $690 - $702 retail price, & enjoy your Alden's [IMG]
