1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Spot on. Being well dressed begins with your feet, followed perhaps by having a reasonably good haircut.

Very Pittsburgh in my experience. Also, suit pants that have not had their creases maintained.

Might be in part due to the excessive and unnecessary amounts salt that they throw on the size walk downtown, even if it is just a snow flurry.

My jcrew lwb after a few wears. I am pleased with the comfort level right out if the box. I just dropped them off at b nelson to have flush mount metal toe taps installed. As you can see from the pic they are wearing fast. Sad part is i dont pick them up until next week.

Did you employ mac break-in method? The excessive toe wear should subside after the first few wears once the initial stiffness of the shoes subside.

Not saying that you didn't employ the method, but if you did not, and your excessive toe wear is simply the result of stiff shoes on concrete, then you are "closing the barn door after the horse has bolted."

Look like them but no, these are a pair of BB - photo filter makes them look like the Nori's, which I do have and love

Sadly i did not. I could not wait to wear them. I was planning to install the taps anyway. I have them on most of my shoes to prevent wear.

A lot of experienced Alden owners here and I thought this would be an appropriate place to ask my question. I'm interested in purchasing a pair of suede Alden's, maybe boots or a chukka or a PTB, still undecided... any thoughts or reviews on the material and comfort level? how about upkeep over time? Any model that stands out best in suede?

I already own a pair of cigar shell captoe boots and black calfskin NST's and I want to diversify a bit. Would appreciate any feedback.

Many here love the unlined suede PTBs. I have a tan pair and enjoy them, but my favorite suede make-up from Alden is the snuff LWB. Very comfortable and pretty versatile too.

That would be me....can't wait to see them in person!

Glad that I was outbid at the last minute on a traditional Aberdeen monk with gold buckle a couple of weeks ago.

I will definitely let you know if they do not work out for some reason in case you are still interested.
