Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. Any thought on whether it's better to go with the smaller or larger width when between sizes?
Thanks much

You'll probably have to try on some shoes yourself and see how it feels on your feet. Personally, if I was in between a B and C, I'd probably go with a C width, because if the shoe is too tight then it will start to hurt your feet after a while, and unless the leather stretches there's nothing you can do about it. If it's just a tad on the wide side, you can just lace them up tighter or wear some thicker socks. But again, every shoe is different - for instance in the Barrie or Trubalance last you may need to go down to a B, because those lasts are generally wider than many others.

I believe the sizes ordered were for more common sizes. I wonder is this was a pilot run for them to see the demand.

hopefully....maybe we're on the verge of seeing a return of more #4 shoes? I'm not sure how scarcity usually works with shell colors, but I assume it's possible for the rarity of each color to change from time to time.

It's hard to tell the difference unless you put the shoes side by side. When you do that, especially outside, the #4 shoes its real character: dark like a mohagony, with some red highlights. Have to say, the shoe got 4 compliments on my first wear. I don't remember anyone ever commenting on my Ravello boots.

I looked through the thread and couldn't find the answer: did the #4 wingtip boots come from TSM?

First an only pair of shell (for now), #8 lwb.  Whether or not it works...I'm determined to wear these w/ every single type/pair of pants I own...

Awesome #8!

#8 long wings are, in my experience, one of the most versatile shoes. Only time I don't even consider wearing them is with black pants. Great shoes! And my contribution: 403 Indy boots at the end of their first day in the wild:
