Another day and more snow. Good day to stay inside when possible. Whiskey for the indoor pair.

Doc, those Whiskey Gunboats are looking just exquisite and you are wearing them very well! I love the caramel shade on those!

Following @smfdoc's Whiskey with a Cigar. Second wearing of these MCTS after some hydration of the dry bits on the vamp followed by a good brushing. View attachment 1553530

Mark, you have done well to those Cigar Semi-Brogues. They are looking exquisite!

Don, those Blackbirds are looking absolutely great my friend. +1 for the Donegal tweed trousers.

AuDog, my puppy approves!!!

Finally did Reno maintenance on a couple pairs...long overdue. Really happy with the results for fairly minimal effort!

They were apparently having some problems with failure of the sole to properly adhere to the wider widths and too many failures. They are working with the sole manufacturer to come up with a solution, but no time line on that for now.
Hang tight. I’m hearing May/June new commando taps might be ready.

Beautiful makeup, I love cigar and that pattern. Whose makeup and from when?
Thanks, Savvy! I picked it up from a fellow forum member but judging by the A17 date code looks to be the late 2016 makeup by Alden Madison, hence the new old stock dryness.

Do any of you guys just use conditioner and avoid other shoe care products?

I'm currently using Bick4, but it doesn't add a shine opposed to saphir renovateur, but renovateur cleans off any burnishing the shoe may have. So I stopped using renovateur.

Is vsc similar to saphir renovateur, as in it'll wipe off any burnishing?

I’m sure others have more experience than I, but on the one pair with burnishing that I used VSC it definitely faded the burnishing. It didn’t simply wipe off; it just faded it. After two applications the burnishing was dramatically lighter. In my case that was a good thing because those shoes (non-Alden) had very different burnishing on the two shoes of the pair. Plus, the shoes are a shade that don’t need burnishing at all, in my opinion.
