They look very nice. Are they the JCrew version?
JCrew makeup. They run these periodically and I grabbed a pair at one point. These have been in a box waiting for cool weather up in the closet. Crappy weather boot with a touch of brass. I like em on a sunny day as well.

Speaking of brown grain boots, AoC has a nice new boot: brown scotch grain wingtip on the thick commando “all terrain” sole. A good substitute for my old AE Long Branches, except I’d really probably need an E width and they’re only in D.

I feel I need E ball width and B heel, sigh
I feel your pain, brother. What's the point of using "combination" lasts if there's no option to actually combine different heel and forefoot widths? Not saying AAA/EE or something crazy like that should be a regular option, but certainly A/D or B/E or even C/EE would solve a lot of problems.

Thank you. Good to know that they are on double waterlock soles, as the website does not mention this.

Hey .. I don't want to give you bad advice, I saw that as well and guessed why full pebble grain and no water resistance sole. They came with oiled soles.. bliss

Sadly that could only be done if Alden reverting back to an orthopedic footwear company. I wish they could allow MTO as you suggested - they should have last like that sleeping in warehouse for such long history.

Really enjoying these this winter. Color 8 WT boots on Barrie, all eyelets, antique edges, Commando soles. It's a makeup for Roden Gray but I happened to pick it up from the seconds list at TSM last year.

I'm an E in AE's 5-last, and D in both Barrie and Truebalance (Brannock is 12D). I think AE's 5-last is relatively narrow to start, but oxford-closure will bump many of us to an E.

My experience has been identical.

I have a similar make up and can certainly relate. Are you noticing any heel slip? How does one go about reducing heel slip? tongue pad?

Interestingly no heel slip with the model, but a very tight grip around instep and waist and locked the heel inside heel cup. Copley last seems works very with my slightly pronated feet.

Tongue pad and heel pad might help
