Can anyone recommend me some workwear type of boots for winter? I was kinda interested in getting the Kahtadins, but I find them a bit too big. Maybe something more similar to the CP x Robert Geller boots that Synthese wears? I want some cheapish kinda boots, since they're going to be ruined by the salt/snow anyways =/.
Thanks!

What is your budget?

That's sort of a difficult proposition, especially as I wouldn't say that my CP boots are at all "workwearish" - although there are plenty of combat boot options, if that's what you mean. There are a ton of brands, cheap and otherwise, that will probably make something you like, but again, maybe start by peeking at yoox's boot selection, as well as revolve (for cheaper options). I honestly can't think of anything "cheap" off the top of my head that's similar to the boots I have, but most of the forum favorites, like NDC, Buttero, CP, etc., all go on sale at various times over the year. If you have a really heritage-y wardrobe, though, I quite like the Katahdins. That said, if you're a 10 (which means an 11), there's a pair of GellerxCP boots @yoox for 350. I think as long as you treat + clean any boots you end up with, salt and snow won't really be a problem.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply! My budget is around 200$ and I could maybe go to 250$ if the boots would be really worth it. And yeah, sorry I called your boots "workwearish", I just didn't know how to call them I guess haha. I was about to get the Katahdins, but I think a slimmer boot, such as the one you have would fit my profile/wardrobe better. I'll check out Yoox and Revolve and see if they have anything, but if you would have any recommendations, that would be greatly appreciated :D.

I remember seeing Patrik Ervell talking about blacking out Doc Marten's http://www.gq.com/style/ten-essentials/201102/patrik-ervell-ten-essentials#ixzz1CvP0bkww, I'd really like to see how that looks. I know there's a picture in that article, it's pretty useless IMO. But it could be an option for cheap and interesting shoes.

He he is wearing his favorites, the 1461 low top.

It's worth spending some time setting up saved searches on ebay, getting email alerts, and getting a sniping program. I just got a pair of F+B derbies for $67.

Isn't sniping forbidden by Ebay?

So it was you who got them! I would have fought you for them but I got caught up with "real life" and totally forgot to even set up a snipe for em :cloud:

Almost everyone bids in the last 30 seconds on Auctions. I think using programs is illegal though

I think another way of increasing your chances of winning an auction is to simply find items with a fewer number of users watching an item (can bidders do this?).

It's nearing that time of year again, when the nights are hot and the clothes come off. What choices do we have? I feeling to get back into the Con(verse) game and just kop a new pair of whites and throw some white paint on the edges, maybe even something from the "washed" collection if I feeling fancy.

I'm thinking I might go the CDHagg route with Uniqlo linen shirt and jeans every day.

A good converse alternative for people with wider feet like me, or if you want something with no branding, is muji's sneakers, cheaper and feel a lot better made too. In the UK, £25. Not sure about the price (or if they're even available) in the US though.

MujI has a lot of stuff at their retail store that isn't available online, right? Maybe Suddenlee could proxy.
