The purpose of this thread is to discuss things that are inexpensive, but at the same time don't suck. There is a lot of cheap shitty garbage floating around out there, and this is NOT the place to discuss that stuff.

This is for clothing that goes well with designer clothing, not that detracts from it. The idea here is more focused toward good deals rather than just cheap stuff.

If you are looking for filler pieces, cost-effective work clothes, or stuff that you aren't afraid to trash then this is the place for you.

If you are a poor college student who likes designer clothes but would have to drop out of school to afford it this is also the place for you.

I think in general a lot of stuff from the gap/aa/uniqlo would fit into this category

A lot of mid-market brands may belong here on deep discount

This is also a great place to discuss things like socks, underwear, gym clothes that don't suck

All credit goes to Razele on this one, His idea and name, I just got the ball rolling for him!

And to get this thing started, I need a recommendation for some nice pants. I don't have easy access to a uniqlo (suddenlee proxy is my best bet) so im pretty open to suggestions. I have one pair of APCs that I basically wear every day and Id like something to switch in with them.

I agree with all this stuff, except I really hate LEC. Seems really poor quality to me and I hate the americana look to everything. That and I like avoiding going into a sears for a multitude of reasons.

Id like more mid market brands to be posted too, R&B, APC, and all of those other acronyms

And the "buy less but better" is why I started this thread. Id rather save up and buy nicer things, but when I need some cheap shit to fill in my wardrobe till the nice stuff comes, this is where Im going to start looking

[IMG] And here's some inspiration, not anything too expensive, but still doesn't look like garbage. The "Baller on a budget" look as softy once called it (<3 may he rest in peace)

For pants, try Club Monaco on sale. For a little more, I really like my epaulet chinos.

For anyone looking for cheap denim, N&F go on deep discounts at Barneys. <$100 is a great price for a beater pair of denim.

PC lol should only be considered midlevel at sale time.

Wouldn't Epaulet and WvG fit this bill as well? They're well made, made in america goods at reasonable prices (especially compared to R&B). I used to buy a ton from both before my tastes shifted more towards designers and away from well made basics.

Yea, I guess they could be but Im really not into the whole americana aesthetic. I really want some pants that would go well with a mandarin collar shirt and a pair of CPs... something kinda loose in the thigh but tapered to the ankle.

Also APC is sold in alot of "midlevel" stores, and its prices aren't too bad on sale.

I'm not sure $165-200 chinos/shirts would be considered mid-level? Epaulet/WvG (and Gitman Bros, etc) are what I'm using to upgrade my J Crew/Dockers wardrobe. :p

For black jeans, h&m has a decent pair in a few cuts for $40 - don't need to spend a lot more than that.
