1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Picked up this magnificent Maglio Francesco umbrella last week from HP.... the workmanship is outstanding, and love the double button straps...

Nice. Very nice. I bought one relatively recently from Tallarico and get many complements. Mine are wood but I bet that the leather handle feels great.

@MoosicPa Thanks for posting pictures! Beautiful umbrella! The pigskin handle is on of my favorites. Maglia is really doing some absolutely fantastic work.

Believe it's SF10. We changed it up bc it ended up on a coupon site. Meant for SF users. Not coupon search people. [IMG]

Just wanted to say thank you to the vendor. The life expectancy of my wardrobe has increased once I replaced whatever sh*t I collected over the years with proper garment accessories and care products!

Believe there is now a $100 minimum for the promotional code. PM me if you're still having problems.

    On December 10th 1786, the
    Catharina
von Flensburg ship, carrying a cargo of hemp and leather from the Russian port of St. Petersburg to the independent republic of Genoa in the Mediterranean, was lost in a storm off the coast of Cornwall in the English Channel. And there the ship and its cargo remained for more than 200 years until – in 1973 – it was discovered by the members of an English diving club. Remarkably preserved, due to the hides' long slumber buried in the mud of the Channel, they have gradually been recovered (in small numbers and at some degree of risk) from the icy waters in the years since.

Originally cured in baths of rye flour as well as willow and birch liquor, and then soaked in seal oil before being hand embossed with a cross-hatch design, the hides are currently available to only a limited number of English craftsmen who restore the leather to its original condition and then use it to make small leather goods. The Hanger Project is one of the few retailers of these fine accessories in the United States and we encourage you to review our newest collection, which ranges from wallets to multipurpose cases.

@kirbya Is it not possible to ship to Germany? I tried on the UK website, but the only shipping possible is to the UK.

Is Saphir Sole Guard basically just vegetable oil? It looks like the same stuff I use to cook, and in fact I've just applied some 100% vegetable oil from the grocery store to my leather soles. A friend of mine and I are discussing whether it's actually "specially formulated" or just marketing nonsense to part a fool from his money. I mean, it does say 100% vegetable oil on it, and certainly wouldn't be the first time a basic good is sold for a different function at substantially higher margins.

I told my friend I would taste them both of I had Sole Guard. Any thoughts? [IMG] But actually, if you don't mind smelling whatever vegetable oil you normally use and the sole guard, it would be really informative. Thanks in advance!

Just use neatsfoot oil. Vegetable oil will go rancid.

I've recently purchased Saphir Sole Guard and do probably fall into the "part a fool from his money" catagory, however what I have noticed since starting to use Sole Guard is that nothing seems to get through to the sole, when I get back home and scrape my shoes on the door mat to get rid of excess dirt & moisture I've noticed just how much extra there is left on the mat which previously would have penetrated the soul.
I'm a happy soul (get it?!) currently with my purchase as you don't need to use much or even after every use so should make my £12.60 purchase last (get it?!) a while

God, I'm on top form today!

    Regards

    Carl.

I had an opportunity to reach out to Saphir via my back channels, and this is what they told me.

In other words, as the Saphir Medaille d’Or Polish, contains several waxes to make the best formulation ever, the Sole Guard is not just olive oil from a tree in Seville you would use to cook.It has been formulated among several essential oils used in cosmetology. The specific formulation is "secret," but I can tell you that the formulation is more than just olive or generic vegetable oil. Most importantly, the sole guard will not go rancid, and unlike Neatsfoot oil, it will not darken the sole, either.

Hope this helps differentiate the Sole Guard. I'll leave to you guys to decide if it's worth the money.

    Cheers,

    Kirby

can anyone comment on Cleverley's sizing, GG/EG size (0.5 down from US) or CJ size (1 down from US)? Also if I find 348 to be too narrow in toebox would Cleverley be automatically out (348 in 8.5E UK, 9E would work but it would be too long, GG MH71 in 9E UK is just barely enough room in toebox, TG73 is completely no go)?
