The stacking does look a little unusual around the calves. If it doesn't contravene "not going any slimmer" (if you meant the upper half) maybe consider a really subtle taper or shortening them by <1 inch?

How prone to easy damage are knits such as the Geller scarred cardigan or sweater? Does more care need to be exercised with them because of the distressed areas. Seems like those areas would be easier to snag on something and then it'd be game over.

Funny you mention this because my knits are always getting snagged on random ****.
My dbss "destroyed" knit has an open weave (?) so it'll catch on basically anything it brushes. It's been caught on exposed brick, rose thorns, unfiled nails, the list goes on. Surprisingly though, the distressed areas don't worry me as much as I thought it would.
