@epsilon22 mentioning in another thread he commissioned a pair of loafers to Nicholas Templeton, woke my interest. And what I saw impressed me seriously, a lot of beautiful styles, also in pretty unusual lasts.

I wonder which aspects of the shoe build are completed by Nicholas and what, if anything, is out sourced? The photos look great. I especially like the tan loafers.

Are you seriously not including his magnum opus, the green suede alligator tassel loafers?

Honestly, not a fan of exotic leathers, I will almost every time go for calf, in all variations. At most, I would consider pigskin, really attractive and distinctive.

By the way, couldn't find those amazing loafers, maybe you could courteously oblige.

Those are beautiful shoes. The color looks more like a shade of wine/burgundy with the lazymans a touch darker. I'm aiming for a true burgundy smooth calf with an upcoming Cannons monk strap build. Nicholas Templeman is on my short list for a commision.

I really like those plain colours without patinas, burnishing and antiquing, rarely seen nowadays.

Canons has impressive styles as well.

When I was looking for loafers, I ended up with Nicholas and Shoji (Marquess) on my shortlist. However, the latter doesn't travel to the US, and I don't have plans to travel to Tokyo multiple times in near future, so that was an easy tie break.

There's something about the proportions and shapes of the strap penny loafers these two makers make that just draw my eyes more than other shoemakers. There's a pair of dark brown alligator penny loafers made by Shoji in the Japanese shoemaker thread from a couple years ago, I never even thought I'd ever like shoes made in alligator skin until I saw those.
