I’ve been wearing my natty CXL Freeports most of the time over these last few months.

They handle everything well. Last week a cat barfed on them. (I’ll spare you the picture.). I wiped them off and they looked fine.

Then I wore them to remove a section of 177-year-old flooring and subflooring. They got pretty dusty.

Again, they cleaned up fine with just brushing. I’m wearing them again today and you’d never know what they went through last week.

It’s a shame that this boot has been discontinued.

I think that the “waterproof” natty CXL used on later versions of the Freeport may have a light acrylic clear coating. I discovered this when I had to remove a couple of drops of polycrylic finish that had splattered on my boots. I was able to pretty easily remove it.

You'll probably find an opportunity. Keep checking shoebank, Ebay, Nordstrom, etc. I've seen a few in my size show up on the bank, but as smfdoc once told me, "if you snooze, you lose."
