It's been forever and a day since I wore these OG McTavishes in tan Dublin (although I think they're coded as cognac). So, I figured I'd might as well commit a cardinal sin and wear these oxfords with denim.

One of these days, I hope we get a Dublin Trunk Show. I'm still kicking myself for not having the foresight to jump in on the Longbranch MTO in Dublin with the good Vibram lug soles back in 2014 or whenever it was. Man, that was a great makeup. I'd love to have a pair of Higgins Mill in this. But, I have to admit, Dublin looks better to me with some broguing, so seeing the Dalton or MacNeil as an option would be killer.

Yea the Eagle County or Bayfield could be nice. I know long retired but... we have vaults right? Or the plates all vanished in Italian job fashion. Nobody knows where the gold went.

I always enjoy Wingtip Wednesday. I don't always remember it, but when I do I always enjoy it.

They were going to do the Bayfield for the Fall 2019 show, but then they discovered that they no longer had all of the tooling for them. They offered the 1st Ave in its place instead.

Shoutout to Alex at the Shoebank for trying to find me some green laces on the factory floor to match my Denim Strands on Olive Dainite. Neither of these pairs are a great match, but I may rock the lime green laces anyhow. At the very least, I’ll find something to put them in.

I think the contrasting laces would look awesome since the welt is also light.

Hi everyone. First time on this thread. I have several allen edmonds shoes that I need to offload because unfortunately bought them without being well measured (park, fifth, strand and lake) in 10.5D. Listed couple on classified. Thought you may recommend where else should I list? (Need to free up space for smaller size same shoes). Appreciate input!

When did AE kill their MTO program? Any change it could make a comeback? I found the MTO thread on here but I see the last post was in 2021.

I became active in shoes around late 2015. IIRC, the MTO program had recently ended.

I have heard *stirrings* that they might try to bring back some form of MTO program, but who knows what the extent of that will be.

MacNeil from the old "rough" collection in dark brown. Great makeup. Wish they had done a few more of these in other leathers and colors. The exposed eyelets and contrast welt really give it a different look from the more traditional versions. Would love to see AE do more of those kinds of changes on some of their more traditional shoes, instead of just throwing a lug sole or sneaker sole on them.

Sounds great, but if we can't even have welt changes on trunk shows it doesn't sound promising. The old program was pretty crazy though and I can understand why that version wouldn't make a comeback.

Welt changes are hard because a lot of customers don’t know what a welt even is. With the trunk show being opened up to online orders, I would guess that the volume of orders is a big reason for the lack of welt customization. Also, tons of pairs were returned for having the wrong welt style or color from previous shows, so it is probably also a cost cutting measure.
