NOK halted...all the **** names about to default or close to are being pumped. This is like the classic penny stock pumps but with billion dollar companies. Unreal.

Damn, I missed my next stonk while I was setting up for bike ride?

ETA: Bah! I just went to buy some NAKD but I have no settled cash in my IRA accounts due to cleaning up on BB. Going to miss the ? ? ? ? on NAKD.

Is the end game of this the schadenfreude of watching a hedge fund implode or do redditors actually think this is an actual money making opportunity? I thought it was the former but a quick scan of reddit makes me think its transformed into the latter. It's not going to end well for most of them.

I thought the endgame was watching the hedge fund implode. If so, it already ended well for them.

I think it's all wrapped up and comes under the thought of draining the swamp type rhetoric. You know, media and fund managers are all in collusion against retail buyers, etc. It's just more MAGAstani type thinking.

There's a bit more truth in WSB line of thinking than MAGA. The Street has been ripping off small investors since time immemorial (front running, HF to get timing edge, payment for order flow etc. etc.)

If corporations are people then stocks are people too -- and being allowed to buy and sell people freely is our American birthright.

To my understanding it's a bit more than a classic pump and dump. It was targeted due to the large amount of shorts on it by two hedgies. While it was a classic pump by the WSB people it was meant to trigger buys to cover shorts. It did and this drove prices even higher. That move higher then started the bandwagon phase by true idiots, i.e. those that will really lose their shirts and are likely small time retail buyers that should not be playing like this.

In other news I just put in a limit to sell my BB at $22.50. If that hits I'll have earned...a few days of my old paycheque. :(

Agreed, yes, this is a short squeeze, but a coordinated short squeeze that mimics a good old pump and dump in that someone is whipping up a frenzy to join the squeeze, and those "someones" probably got out of their positions by now..

Yeah I'm sure you're right. Short sellers are big boys and nobody's going to shed a tear if one or two of them get knocked out in the chaos. But ultimately somebody is going to get stuck holding the bag when this unravels and I suspect it will be the retail investors who pile in at the end and don't really understand what they're getting themselves into.
