Heed immunity needs what like 60%-70% of the population to get it? The mortality rate is pointing to something higher than seasonal flu but using a flu like mortality rate is how your get what the White House is projecting for deaths.

How does this relate to investing? I have no idea...maybe deaths aren’t 1M and we get excited and not retest lows
Quite a bit of overlap between this thread and the Wuhan one. Not much else to consider for investing than what to expect with corona

All data suggests good weather slows this down. The only thing Cali did better than NY is have beautiful weather in Feb. It's just orders of magnitude more severe and much more contagious than the flu so it probably won't be a knockout.

and have a totally different transportation system? Cali doesn’t really do trains like New York. You really think rush hour in individual cars = hundreds of thousands packed into trains? California is also far more spread out than NY (even in LA/SF)

SF is the second densest City in the US, and had its first case at roughly the same time as New York, but went into shutdown much earlier. The difference between the two isn’t the weather or the subways.

It's probably just that NYC is a far bigger transit hub. God speed all.

I am surprised it is not a lot more.

A quick scan of facebook over the past week has shown that there are still people who cannot get through to the unemployment office. Seems like NY state in general puts you in a blackhole and you have to just keep calling back.

Anybody following the Luckin Coffee news? Thought I had struck gold when I bought in at 19 a share, and the price soared to the lower 50’s. This morning however...

My friend sent me an article about it this morning. My response was who the **** is Luckin Coffee.
they’ve made headlines for aggressive growth. They’ve got a bigger footprint in China than Starbucks. Seemed promising, with ridiculous growth through last year. Turns out it was all BS.
