I would love 11%. I fondly remember '08 and having no open positions plus low turnover as people were afraid they'd not easily find another gig.

The milk of human kindness fairly pumps through your veins, doesn't it?

I’m with you, as my turnover has been backbreaking this year, but I’m also aware that this is total robber baron mentality

Business analysis and kindness rarely overlap.

There's also more involved in that statement than a money guy like you has had to experience. I mean, it's not like an hourly employee gives much of a flying **** what their resignation via text an hour before their shift starts does to the other people on that shift, patient care, or the organizational toll. Also, I can't count the hours I used to stress over my P&L, which has always been 50-60% labor.

Life boat ethics at work, my friend. I'm usually on the short end when it comes to labour but the Great Recession was pretty awesome from my standpoint career wise.

Rich boomer on Rich Boomer violence is always fun

That said, i agree with @Piobaire conceptually, and personally am looking forward to harvesting things from all the people who purchased poorly

On the other hand, the three year retention award I received in company stock is also worth about 3/4 what it was at the time of the award, so it's not all cake and balloons at the gnatty8 household
