I guess you‘ll want a high-walled, rounded toe penny loafer (like the classic Bass Weejun): Carmina Xim is very nice and comfortable thanks to blake stitching. Otherwise Carmina Pina or Genova (as you have found out yourself) tick all the boxes.

Meermin is usually harder to break in
True of the main line but at the risk of repeating other posts, not of the softcalf unlined loafers. Full leather construction also means it is easier on the knees. I walk several km a day in mine and not only are they the most comfortable of my leather shoes (and more comfortable than some trainers), there's no knee or foot pain afterwards as can be the case with harder leather shoes particularly with plastic heel blocks.

Honestly the unlined line made me question whether they were made by the same company as the normal Meermin stuff (which is indeed quite hard).

yeah no need for more reptiiton but agreed, i bought the unlined loafer in alicante dark brown from the Soho location this summer and could not be happier. Spent some time to choose the right size on the Ron last but no break in at all, very comfortable, and I find to be not too classic not too fashion forward.

I wear Uniqlo no-show socks.

Their ‘vamp’ (or whatever you call that part of the socks below the shoe vamp) is low enough to not show even when worn under loafers of lower vamp (e.g. C&J Harvard). Haven’t tried them with the Anglo-Italian x CJ low-vamp loafers (which are of even lower vamp) though.

However, they tend to slip - especially the finer ones. If you try some, pick the thicker ones.

Cool, I'll check out Uniqlo's offerings. Thanks!
