Hello everyone. I know I've posted on here before about the same issue, but I always seem to get answers/information that contradicts each other.

This link contains three photos of three different suit jackets I own...
https://www.flickr.com/photos/156306736@N06/24014725778/in/photostream/lightbox/

1). The blue check/windowpane suit is a Lazio from Suitsupply. This is literally the ONLY suit jacket I've every owned that is without problems in the shoulder area. I love the way the shoulder line is uninterrupted and forms a straight line.

2). The grey jacket is from online MTM company Oliver Wicks. Notice how the shoulders on this jacket curve up toward the end? I can't for the life of me figure out why this is.

3). The blue, striped jacket is from Jos. A Banks. You can see an indent/divot along the top of the shoulder and again I have no idea why it does this.

All three jackets seem to have the same amount of padding, so what cold possibly cause the other two jackets to have issues. I'm afraid to buy my suits anywhere other than Suitsupply, because so far that's the only jacket that seems perfect to me in the shoulder region.

Short and obvious answer is to carry on buying the one that fits well. All patterns are different and it is good that you have found an accessible RTW option that works for you.

As to the jackets which fit less well on the shoulder, it would just seem that their pattern does not suit your body type or posture. I would imagine that they are cut with less slope and perhaps for a more erect posture. How would you describe your actual shoulder shape? Straight, sloped (often very built guys have a sloped shape)? And your posture? Erect, hunched?

What you are seeing is quite common and happens to me on many jackets. In my case, I have back injury which has rounded my shoulders. I therefore get rumpling of the shoulder line as the points of my shoulder push into the front of the sleevehead. I also get a hollow area at the back where the shoulder ends.

Online MTM is a disaster waiting to happen, so just buy the one that you say fits to your liking, - and have no more ado about the matter.

I'd describe my shoulders to be somewhere in between straight & sloped. They're relatively broad, but not Michael Phelps broad. As for my posture, it's typically erect but my shoulders angle forward.
