Suit Separates or High Drop For a Triangle (Y-Shaped) Professional?

First post; I'm a noob looking to upgrade from cheap-o suits.

My problem is: I'm a 42" chest and 32" waist. Where can I find quality suit separates? Or suits with a high drop? All the suits I've tried have a 6" or 8" drop, which just won't work.

I'm aiming for $500 - $800 for a good value on good construction, but outlets don't have anything that fit me. Custom would be great, but I'm wary of online custom for my first (and only for a while) quality suit, and probably can't afford it otherwise. Mass-market stores carry separates, but seem to be low quality construction.

For fit, I'm looking for a slim fit that works with a big chest and flat belly. I'll post pics if it helps. Of the jackets I tried on, Armani's David cut seemed to work best. Even some slim cuts look boxy on me. The extra-slims I've tried (Calvin Klein, Express; I was getting desperate) make an "X" on the chest when buttoned. :/

SuitSupply has a few options, but there must be more in the world.

I'd appreciate any help!

You will never find anything off the rack that is going to fit without some alterations. Best bet is to get the shoulders the right width and have everything else altered. Be careful about taking in the waist on the jacket too much. On the trousers, I personally prefer mine a little loose around the waist since I wear suspenders, but that is up to you. You can take them in around 2 inches without any problem. After that, have some side adjusters added to get them a little snugger if you prefer.

This^. I have your measurements (an extra inch in the waist). There is a real tendency to take the jacket in too much which results in an hourglass figure from behind, do not do that.

Thanks toplel. As an alternative, eBay seems to have some lightly used options cheap enough to roll the dice on...or let me know if you want to part with any!

The only things I want to part with are the 40R's I weight lifted my way out of ;) They won't fit you.
